Chicken manure is literally one of the most powerful nitrogen-rich fertilizers for your plants. It has macronutrients (the big N-P-K) as well micronutrients. But that’s also the problem it’s TOO powerful and can burn your plants and trees even after months of aging.
But fret not my friend, I found this easy method of using FRESH chicken manure that is not only easy and quick but you can use it on your plants in 2 weeks(isn’t that cool!)
Okay let me show you how.
Step 1. Get your chicken manure, a container, spoilt milk (fresh milk that you can leave on your counter to go bad intentionally ) and de-chlorinated water(it could be rain water, well water or water from the tap that has been left out for 2 days)
Step 2. Put the chicken manure(any amount, honestly I usually wing it),the de-chlorinated water and the spoilt milk in the bucket. Fill the bucket with de-chlorinated water to the brim of the bucket .
NB// If you’re the type of person that likes exact measurement I would use a 5 gallon bucket, half a gallon of spoilt milk and about 10 cups of fresh chicken manure(you can even use chicken manure with the bedding. )
Step 3. In the bucket mix the manure, water and spoilt milk for like a minute, cover it and then let it sit for 2 weeks.
And that’s it ,your done! After 2 weeks you the healthy lactobacillus bacteria in the milk would have broken down the chicken manure completely and ready for you to use.
Ok now to answer some questions you may have.
Is this safe?
I have been doing this method for 3 or 4 years now, fit as a horse, the veggies are strong and healthy plus they taste great. But hey you don’t have to try this,it’s your choice.
Why does this work?
Well I’m not God or a scientist but I have a hypothesis.Remember everything dies and goes back to the earth, if it didn’t you would see dead trees and dead people all over the place from centuries before.Trees, leaves, our dead all get broken down by the microrganisms around us and in this case the microorganisms in the milk do the same thing to the chicken manure but much faster(That’s all I got lol).
Now how do you actually use it? Well for me I use it on my nitrogen loving plants like cabbages, escallions, okras, corn, peas and beans, stuff like that. And I use it in a ratio of 1:5 meaning for every 1 cup of the chicken manure water slurry I add 5 cups of water(it can be tap water but rain water is best). This can be done once a week or every 2 weeks.
I have been doing this for about 3 to 4 years and no plants have been burned and the plants go nuts for it.And the best part is you can use it straight away on your squashes, trees, flowers and they love it!
That’s all for now. If you have any questions leave them below. Bye.
